We met at the space needle, unquestionably the nation's greatest needle.

Me wearing a black suit, blue shirt, and gray and red tieSo, given last post's conspicuous absence, I feel obligated to provide a bit more content. So what else has being going on in the wacky and wild Life of Rob? I'm glad you asked, Dear Reader!

I have all of my creative component books. Now I just have to start reading the darn things. According to my schedule, I was supposed to have started reading them last week, but I didn't think to actually ~look~ at my schedule until this evening, so whatcha gonna do? That was a rhetorical question, by the by. And the rhetorical answer is "not much."

I'll tell you what I did do today, though. I fixed my bathroom door. For the last few months, the door separating my bathroom from the kitchen has had a tendency to pop open. A few weeks ago, I figured out that the door had slouched slightly (or perhaps the apartment had rotated around the door), so the latch and the jamb weren't meeting up like they should. I could get the door to latch by lifting up mightily as I shut the door, but Smaug figured out pretty quick that he could open it again by jumping at the handle and smacking it with his paws. This is a problem for a multitude of reasons, some of which are obvious, others I wish to leave obscure (and you do too. Trust me). But today! I fixed the door! I decided moving the door up would be a lot of work, and I wasn't really in the mood for a lot of work, so I moved the jamb down instead. And it worked! The door now opens and closes only when One with Opposable Thumbs wishes it to. I'm so freakin' handy. Please leave delusions where you find them.

Dana and I have bought our tickets for spring break. We'll be flying from Kansas City to Seattle for a week in the windy city with Justin. Dana's roommate Kate will also be in Seattle for a couple days (I think), so the four of us should have a pretty good time. Of course, I'll be bringing quite a few of aforementioned books on the trip, seeing as how my entire creative component is due (according to aforementioned schedule) about two weeks after spring break. And Dana and I will be spending the weekend ~after~ spring break in Chicago for CCCC (three nights in a great hotel downtown if all goes according to plan), so I'm going to have to spend an annoyingly large portion of spring break studying.

My monitor is Dying. It flickers in and out every 30 seconds or so, which is pretty hard on the ol' peepers, and also my eyes. I'm a little sad to see it go, as it is very nice to have a 21" monitor for which to do design-type stuff. I'd be more sad were it not nearly a decade old, and had I not paid $30 for it. As it is, I'm going to be ordering a new one in the next couple of days. I think it's time to move to an LCD. Probably a 19", which I was a lot more excited about until I heard that my boss was ordering two 24" widescreen monitors for when I'm gone. *g*

The monitor will be part of my tax return. Most of my tax return will be the spring break trip. The rest will hopefully be enough to pay the other half of my rent until I find a roommate. I really hope my tax return comes soon. I just like saying tax return.

I believe you are mistaken. Seattle is nicknamed "The windy apple." Not the windy city.
