South Pier in Blackpool is situated very close to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and the Sandcastle Waterpark. Work began upon it as the whole of the sparse South Shore area of Blackpool was being developed and in 1892 the first piles of the third pier to grace Blackpool’s shoreline were sunk. Pilots, generally speaking, tend to be an egotistical lot to say the least. And that ego ranges from very humble to the “I am God’s gift to aviation” type pilot, who’s head alone would weigh enough to over gross a C17 transport aircraft. Unfortunately, the latter seems to exist more at the VFR level. Why? Maybe it is the novelty of joining what is perceived as an elite group. After all said and done as much as I enjoy the “buzz” of Orlando with it’s theme parks and attractions there comes a time when you just want to unwind and chill out. Or maybe it is not your type of thing to mix it up with the mouse.
